Before 2 years Markus Persson give to us a great game and called it Minecraft. This game is sandbox construction based but also game offer a great adventure to you. For a begginers Minecraft can be a little confusing, but once when you figure out basic controls, Minecraft will be your only game.
In survival mode you start in generated world without any tools or weapons. You will notice that sun move on the sky and that night will come fast. When sun comes down then monster come out. So you must build some shelter first. You must learn how to combine materials and how to make tools and weapons. Punching trees will give you a wood and combine it with stone you can make a pick tool. Combination pallete you can find on Minecraft site.
At creative servers you can play online with your friends and get all materials, tools and weapons free to use. This is another way of fun, its easier then survival mode but there you can build a large structures and creatures can hurt you. You should try both modes of this great game.
